What this tool does
Convert between currencies using a custom exchange rate you provide. Works offline.
Manual Currency Converter multiplies an amount by the exchange rate you enter. It is intentionally offline and rate-agnostic, which makes it useful for bank quotes, travel planning, invoices, marketplace pricing, and what-if currency math.
Key features
- Convert any currency pair by entering the source amount and custom rate
- Works offline after the page loads because it does not call an exchange-rate API
- Supports bank rates, card rates, mid-market rates, or your own quoted FX rate
- Shows the calculation plainly so you can spot decimal-place mistakes
- Useful for quick scenarios before moving numbers into a spreadsheet or finance app
Common use cases
- Estimating travel costs using the cash, card, or bank rate you were quoted
- Converting invoice amounts when a client supplies the agreed exchange rate
- Checking marketplace prices in another currency before adding fees or tax
- Running quick what-if comparisons for different FX rates
Things to know
- The tool does not fetch live market rates, so the answer is only as current as the rate you enter
- Banks and card networks may add spreads, fees, and rounding rules that are not included
- Be careful with inverted rates; 1 USD to INR is not the same input as 1 INR to USD
- For accounting, record the source of the exchange rate and the date you used it

Frequently asked questions
Does this currency converter use live exchange rates?
No. You enter the rate yourself, which makes the tool work offline and lets you use the exact bank, card, or invoice rate you were quoted.
How do I avoid entering the rate backwards?
Read the label as '1 source currency equals X destination currency'. If you only have the inverse rate, divide 1 by that number before entering it.
Are fees and spreads included?
Only if you include them in the rate. Banks, cards, and money-transfer services may add spreads, fixed fees, and rounding rules.
